Finding My Strength: Adri’s Journey

Adri Serra's fitness journey took a different turn when she transitioned from the structured world of boxing to the dynamic challenges of CrossFit.

Her search for something engaging led her directly to our doorstep at CrossFit 1864. "I was looking for something that was both fun and challenging, and CrossFit seemed like the perfect blend," Adri explains.

The gym's vibrant presence and community spirit on social media were what initially drew her in. "After following CrossFit 1864 on Instagram and attending a trial session, I knew I had found my new fitness home," she recalls.

One of the aspects Adri loves most about CrossFit is the constant opportunity to face and overcome new challenges. "The beautiful thing about CrossFit is that the challenges never end," she says. Each day presents a chance to improve, whether it's mastering a new technique or enhancing her stamina. "It's incredibly satisfying to notice even the smallest improvements. It's what keeps me motivated."

Since joining CrossFit 1864, Adri notes a significant change in her approach to health and wellness. "CrossFit has completely changed my lifestyle. I used to drag myself to the gym, but now I can’t wait to get to the box," she shares with a smile. This shift goes beyond the physical workouts; it extends to her mental health and social life. "For that one hour, I’m not just working out; I’m having fun, de-stressing, and socializing—all the things that make life richer."

Milestones and achievements

Adri's journey is marked by memorable achievements that keep her excited about her fitness. "There are so many milestones I’ve celebrated here—from my first successful rope climb to completing multiple double-unders and snatches," she proudly states. Each new skill mastered is a celebration, a testament to her hard work and the supportive coaching at CrossFit 1864.

The community at CrossFit 1864 is a significant motivator for Adri. "The coaches and my fellow members are incredible. There’s always someone cheering you on, ready with a word of advice or encouragement," she says. This sense of belonging has not only kept her motivated but has also deeply enriched her fitness experience.

When asked what advice she would give to someone just starting their fitness journey, Adri emphasizes patience and resilience. "Enjoy every part of the journey, embrace the challenges, and don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle," she advises. She stresses that everyone is on their own unique path and that setbacks are just part of the process.

A Healthier, Happier Self

Adri’s approach to health and fitness has evolved significantly since joining the gym. "I’ve made choices that make me feel good, like eating healthier and reducing my alcohol intake," she explains. These decisions are personal but have helped her perform better and feel more energetic, impacting her overall quality of life positively.

Future Goals and Ambitions

Looking ahead, Adri sets her sights on participating in the next CrossFit Open as Rx. "I’m training five to six days a week to prepare, and while I may not be ready next year, I’m excited to see how much stronger I’ll be," she shares with determination. Her goals are clear, and her commitment is unwavering.

CrossFit has become such an integral part of Adri's life that she organizes much of her schedule around her training sessions. "My 'CrossFit time' is sacred, and I plan other commitments around it," she laughs. This dedication shows how transformative and central her fitness regime has become.

Adri Serra’s story is a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of a supportive fitness community like CrossFit 1864. Her journey from boxing to CrossFit highlights the transformative power of finding a sport that challenges and excites.
